Franz Ferdinand--A Century Since The Spark Of War

Today is June 28, 2014; and it marks 100 years since the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie in Sarajevo, Bosnia. It was the event that got the ball rolling for the First World War, the so-called War to End All Wars, the spark that set off a powder keg as mainstream historians like to say.

And you won't find anything on this event on History Channel, CNN, MSNBC, FOX News, ABC, NBC or CBS (those last three are too busy showing soccer, golf and car racing). They weren't to busy to broadcast a lot of 70th Anniversary D-Day crap (isn't 75 supposed to be the big one, usually things are celebrated in increments of 25 years?), but they don't seem to think this is important. Then again, they glorify World War II, with most of what passes for history on that being a colossal lie, and ignore World War I (and Korea, and Vietnam; probably because those were a tie and a loss for the U.S. and they weren't popular and glamorized). Print media has seen fit to report on it,

Actually it is Bosnia-Herzegovina, and it was annexed in 1908 by the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Franz Ferdinand was the heir to the Austrian throne (a "dual monarchy, the Austrian emperor was also the King of Hungary since 1867). He was considered somewhat liberal for his day in certain ways, although so-called liberals today would think him way to reactionary. But that word, reactionary, should truly be applied to his uncle, the elderly Franz Joseph, who was 84 years old when the political murder of his nephew occurred, he admitted it himself. Franz Joseph favored greater autonomy for the many ethnic groups of the empire and addressing their grievances, particularly the Czechs in Bohemia and Slavs in Croatia and Bosnia. But he disliked the Hungarians and viewed Hungarian nationalism as a threat to the (inbred) Hapsburg dynasty and regarded the Hungarian forces of the imperial army as unreliable. Franz Joseph wanted to replace the dual-monarchy with a supra-national federation according to Count Leopold Berchtold, the Foreign Minister. He wanted to rock the boat politically and was unpopular with the emperor and many conservatives for it.

The really interesting thing about Franz Joseph, or perhaps ironic is a better word, is his view towards Serbia, the country that was, in the parlance of today, a "state sponsor of terrorism", since the secret terrorist society Black Hand was deeply involved in the murder of Franz Ferdinand and his wife. High ranking members of the Serbian government and military as well as intelligence service were involved in this odious organization. They planned the conspiracy that ended in the political murder of the heir to the throne, and his wife.  The Archduke wanted to treat Serbia gently, feeling harsh treatment of Serbia would bring the empire into conflict with Russia (which is exactly what happened after his murder) to the detriment of both empires. Another interesting thing about this man is that in an age and dynasty where marrying royalty (and in the case of the Hapsburgs, marrying your cousin, the dynasty was inbred that it was ridiculous) Franz Joseph married for long, a morganatic marriage with Countess Sophie Chotek, a lady-in-waiting for Archduchess Isabella. As such, her station was high enough to permit marrying a member of the royal family. Franz Ferdinand was very much in love with her, but the reactionary emperor Franz Joseph was so against it that it took intervention from Tsar Nicholas II of Russia, German Emperor Wilhelm II and finally the pope, Leo XIII to get the old bastard to relent. But he put conditions on it, it had to be morganatic, meaning that if he became emperor she would not be empress, the children could not become emperor, she couldn't be next to him in royal appearances nor sit in a box at the theater with him. At receptions she had to be far down the line. She, and he, put up with this for love, neither the emperor nor the Archdukes brothers attended the wedding,.

More should be made of this event, and of this man and his wife, than is being made on the 100th anniversary of their murders by terrorists that still get called "patriots" and "nationalists". Guess it depends on whose ox is getting gored as to who is a terrorist and who is a patriot. 16 million dead and 20 million wounded/maimed, and that's the just physically, not mention those permanently psychologically damaged; plus upwards of 50 million people dead from 3 years of the "Spanish Flu" pandemic following it. all started by a few shots in a Balkan city.

1789 Alexander Hamilton is named first Secretary of the Treasury  Hamilton was born a bastard in more ways that one, he was born illegitimate to Rachel Faucett Lavien (as she is known to history). Apparently her name was really Rachel (Faucett) Mendez, she was a Sephardic jew and was married to a man named Johann Michael Lavien  (Hamilton biographer Ron Chanow says this may be a Sephardic spelling of "Levine") who is described in the wiki article as "German-Jewish" and a "merchant-planter". The planter part probably means he had land worked by slaves, as was the practice of the times. The wiki article sites the jewishpress.com link below as a source, and that link describes "Lavien" as a Danish jew. She had one child, a boy with Lavien/Lavine and deserted him (making the claim of "he beat me", he may have but considering her subsequent behavior, there may be a reason why) and her son on the Caribbean Island of St. Croix in what is now the U.S. Virgin Islands and fled to St. Kitts (one of the Leeward Islands in  the Lesser Antilles about 1300 miles SE from Miami) in 1750. Hamilton was born on 11 January 1755, although some sources will state 1757, on the island of Nevis, just across  The Channel from the island of St. Kitts; his mother was also born on that island, in the British West Indies, in 1729. His mother was apparently imprisoned on St. Croix for adultery, and sometime between arriving on St. Kitts in 1750 and meeting James A. Hamilton (fourth son of a Scottish "laird" or lord, Alexander Hamilton of Ayrshire, Scotland) she was involved with a jew named David Levy, who was "Alexander Hamilton"s real father, who abandoned her (either pregnant or after the birth of "Alexander") according to a pamphlet titled "Messianic Jewish Influence In Early America" published by Congregation Yashuat Yisrael in Franklin, Tennessee (see comment section of the jewishpress.com link below in the article "The Jews of Nevis and Alexander Hamilton"). Rachel Faucett Mendez Levy apparently married James A. Hamilton, a not-very-successful business man in the sugar business, even though still married to Johann Michael Lavien/Lavine and possibly married to David Levy (but probably not), either Hamilton didn't know she was pregnant then or just decided to adopt the boy/give him his name. There was apparently another son, James Jr, but it's next to impossible to find any information on him. They moved to her birthplace, Nevis Island, where she had inherited some property from her father. James left her, citing according to the Wikipedia article, that he wanted to spare her being charged as a bigamist, after they learned her 'first' husband, Johann Lavien/Lavine was divorcing her on St. Croix under Danish law for adultery and desertion. Makes me wonder if this is the first time James A. Hamilton knew of her still being married, and/or he came to question the paternity of Alexander.  The Anglican Church (Church of England) would not perform their marriage, recognize it, allow them to attend nor allow the children to attend church school; so Alexander Hamilton was enrolled in a Jewish school on Nevis (perhaps they recognized him as one of their own, because this normally wasn't done for a child who supposed to be a 'gentile'). He was educated as a jew, becoming fluent in French and "Hebrew" (Yiddish?), and according to his son Alexander said that he could recite the Decalogue in Hebrew when he was so small he was placed on a table so he  could stand by the teacher while reciting it.

His mother Rachel Faucett Mendez Lavien/Levine Levy Hamilton apparently went back to St. Croix after this, running a small store in the town of Christiansted. She died of a fever on 19 February 1768; her 'first' husband went to Probate Court and was awarded her estate and her few valuables, he provided nothing for Alexander who was not his and to whom he had no obligation whatsoever. According to Hamilton biographer Ron Chanow there is some circumstantial evidence of local merchant Thomas Stevens being Hamilton's father because of a resemblence to Stevens son Edward and a commonality of interests, and both being fluent in French. Hamilton was a Sephardic perhaps "Messianic" jew, so was his mother and his alleged (by Congregation Yashuat Yisrael) father David Levy, which to me goes a long way in explaining his actions.

HAMILTON'S POLITICAL LIFE AND POLITICAL PHILOSOPHY

 

At Kings College in New York (now Columbia University) on 10 May 1775 he allowed the Loyalist college president Myles Cooper to escape a "mob" of revolutionaries by haranguing them long enough to let Cooper escape to a British ship in NY harbor. This was three just weeks after the battles of Lexington and Concord, on 19 April 1775. Cooper had written tracts calling all forms of resistance to the king to be treason. He was  an Anglican priest, and a guy that was more interested in drinking and being a man-about-town than a  college president. Cooper died in London 13 years later on another occult holiday, 1 May 1785 at the age of 50. While Hamilton put in two years of honorable service in the artillery during the War for Independence, he was an ambitious schemer who turned down offers to be on the staff of Nathaneal Greene and Henry Knox to get on the staff of George Washington and curry favor from his fellow Mason for the rest of his life. Hamilton resigned his commission shortly after Cornwallis' surrender at Yorktown, South Carolina, to run for Congress, ever upward; after badgering Washington for a field command. He finally got one during the Battle of Yorktown, and when Cornwallis surrendered British forces he then resigned but had that "on his resume'".From there on out, his time in the national government revealed him to be what would today be called a fascist. Immediately  he began pushing for more power for the federal government, and the ability for it to make laws that superceded state law and for taxation of the states.

The  Articles of Confederation didn't suit him because the states had too many rights and freedoms, and he didn't want 13 separate countries free to do as they saw fit, he wanted one big powerful federal government. He resigned from Congress and practiced law in New York, specializing in defending Royalists and British subjects against damage claims (there  is that Loyalist sentiment again, as when he engineered the escape of the Loyalist president of King's College {Columbia University} to escape. On 9 June 1784 Hamilton foundedthe Bank of New York. Hamilton got back into the public arena in 1786 as a delegate from New York to the Annapolis Convention, a precursor to the CONstitutional Convention of May 1787. Hamilton drafted a resolution for a CONstitutional Convention while in Annapolis for the 3 day convention (11 September to 14 September 1786). In 1787 Hamilton was an Assemblyman (state legislator) in the New York State Assembly. He was the first delegate chosen to the Philadelphia Convention but the other two delegates opposed his idea of making a strong (overriding states liberty and authority) central government, John Lansing Jr and Robert Yates walked out 6 weeks into the convention because they had believed that it was only supposed to amend the Articles of Confederation to allow Congress a taxing power (a source of revenue not dependent on the states), enforce treaties and regulate commerce. That was all the New York legislature had authorized to them to be involved in, and they were shocked at Hamilton, Madison and others writing a whole new constitution. As it turned out, their fears about the power the central government would eventually take were fully justified.  Early in the convention, Hamilton made a speech proposing a president-for-life (he got one in Franklin Roosevelt), and also U.S. Senator's-for-life (although they could be impeached). These proposals changed his ally James Madison's opinion of Hamilton, Madison now considered him a monarchist. It was Hamilton who came up with many of the things that ultimately appeared in the CONstitution, including the 3/5 Clause (where black slaves were counted as 3/5ths of a person for purposes of taxation distribution and apportionment of House seats; he had this presented by his allies James Wilson and Roger Sherman. Among the many dictatorial things in Hamilton's constitutional draft (which he didn't formally present) was that state governors would be appointed by the federal government rather than be elected by the citizens of the states. This is consistent with the federal government view of states as convenient zones of administration rather than independent entities that is held today and has been since about 1861.

It was because of this, and Hamilton's snake-in-the-grass approach to interpreting the constitution that Madison wrote the Bill of Rights. Jefferson and Madison were strict constructionists, they believed that it should be interpreted strictly as written and as understood at the time of ratification. Hamilton was a loose constructionist, they believed in a loose interpretation of the constitution in order to obtain more power for the federal government. Hamilton wrote in The Federalist Papers as if he was a strict constructionist to get the CONstitution rafitfied, once it was, he showed his true colors and argued for a loose interpretation in order for the central government to obtain more authority. In 1788 Hamilton served another term in Congress in what was the last congress under the Articles of Confederation. Hamilton had married Elizabeth Schuyler, daughter of wealthy former general and U.S. Senator Philip Schuyler of Albany. Schuyler was elected to the Senate from New York in 1788, but only served two years because New York was/is a Class 1 state (see link below) and lost the election of 1791 to New York's Attorney General, Aaron Burr. Hamilton was unfaithful to Elizabeth, but she defended him and was loyal to him to the end of her life. He had an affair with a married woman named Maria Reynolds, her husband James went to James Monroe and Aaron Burr in 1791 saying he knew of corruption by Hamilton, who was quizzed by them and admitted the affair but denied being corrupt. The matter was laid to rest until after Hamilton's resignation as Secretary of the Treasury on 31 January 1795; when rumors of the affair spread, Hamilton published a confession, shocking his friends and wife, but didn't let it go there and went into, uh, unnecessary detail about it.
 

This damaged his reputation forever after. Hamilton had paid James Reynolds more than $1000 of blackmail money over several years in order to keep up his affair with Reynolds wife (and we thought there were sex  scandals today...); she was 23 and he was 36. Hamilton tried to rig the election of 1796 to keep John Adams as vice president (in a time before parties had candidates with running mates and political parties were brand new); John Adams became the second President of the United States and Thomas Jefferson became the second vice president. Adams and Hamilton hated each other, and to illustrate the depravity of Alexander Hamilton, he worked not only against Democratic-Republican candidates but against his own Federalist Party candidate, the sitting president John Adams, in 1800. Jefferson and Burr tied with 73 electoral votes each, thanks in part to backlash against Hamilton's antics by the voters. The election went to the House of Representatives, and Jefferson won on the 36th ballot, again thanks to some shananigans by Hamilton, so Burr was vice president. Burr knew halfway through Jefferson's first term he wouldn't be on the ticket in 1804, so he ran for governor of New York in 1802 but was defeated, in large part due to more muckraking by Hamilton. In 1804, Hamilton published some scurrilous things about Burr, who challenged him to apologize or engage in a duel. Hamilton refused to apologize, and Burr challenged him to a duel.

 

DUEL WITH AARON BURR AND DEATH

 

It occured on 11 July 1804 at a place called the Heights of Weehawken, below the cliffs of Palisades, across the Hudson River from Manhatten; as the challenged party Hamilton had the choice of weapons, he brought Wogden dueling pistols, which had a feature of 'set triggers', they could be set with shorter, easier trigger pull. This was a feature seen on rifles, but not common on pistols (except on English dueling pistols). Burr would not have known about this feature, and Hamilton didn't tell him. Hamilton fired  first, and perhaps because of clumsiness with a set (or "hair") trigger, the bullet hit a tree branch over Burr's head. Burr, no stranger to duels, took aim and shot Hamilton in the abdomen, hitting a rib and the ball deflecting to injure the liver and diaphram before lodging in a vertabrae. Hamilton died the next day, 12 July 1804, and was buried at Trinity Church Cemetary (Espicopalian) in Manhatten, located, appropriately enough, at Wall and Broadway streets. As fitting a freemason, there is a pyramid atop his crypt. Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton is buried there also, and ironically so is General Horatio Gates, the man who replaced Philip Schuyler after he had allowed the capture of Fort Ticonderoga and whom Gates accused of dereliction of duty. (For some more irony, Gates claimed credit for defeating the British at Saratoga, when all the credit should have gone to General Benedict Arnold, who, though severely wounded in the leg, mounted a horse and rallied American troops to defeat British forces, saving the day at Saratoga; it was this snub as much as anything that started the very vain Arnold on the road to treason). Hamilton was bi-sexual, he wrote some very lavish love letters to his fellow Mason the Marquis de Lafayette and to his friend John Laurens (killed in 1782) to whom he wrote to find him, Hamilton, a wife in South Carolina and spelled out what he required in a wife (most of all was that she/her family be wealthy). Hamilton carried on an affair with his sister-in-law Angelica Schuyler Church (it was her husband who owned the dueling pistols selected by Hamilton for his duel, maybe Church got a little karmic revenge there?).

SUMMARY

As Secretary of the Treasury, Hamilton wrote a tax law that would pay off bankers and foreign creditors holding U.S. debt from the Revolutionary War by taxing the poorest Americans, frontiersmen who were hard-scrabble farmers and backwoodsmen who had fought with George Washington and been instramental in winning many a battle. These men, not just in western Pennsylvania, but in the Carolinas and Virginia outside of the tidewater regions, Maryland and all of Kentucky refused to pay a tax on their homemade whiskey that would have robbed them of any profit. Washington knew all along this tax that his fellow Mason, Hamilton, had written was designed to tax the poor to pay bankers, and went along with it, even riding at the front of troops to put down this "Whiskey Rebellion". So the man First In The Hearts Of His Countrymen led an army to crush a tax revolt,  after he had led an army in a tax revolt for 6 years. Hamilton also tried to  establish a forerunner of the Federal Reserve called The First National Bank, which he modeled after the Rothschild owned (from 1815 onward) Bank of England. Jefferson  fought this tooth and nail, as did Andrew Jackson when it was brought up during his administration (as the Bank of the United States). As far as I'm concerned, the bastard, homosexual, adulterous, Sephardic Jew, freemason from the West Indies called Alexander Hamilton was one of the worst disasters ever inflicted on America and was a moral reprobate and all around scumbag.

1814 Battle of Plattsburgh/Lake Champlain   This battle ended the final invasion of the northern U.S. in the War of 1812. A naval squadron under British Captain George Downie and an army under Lt. General Sir George Prevost attacked the town of Plattsburgh at dawn, but were defeated in hard battle and Downie was killed. Prevost then  withdrew his army to Canada. This victory kept the British from having any leverage to make territorial demands of keeping territory they already held at

1826 Kidnapping and murder of Captain William Morgan by Freemasons  William Morgan (7 August? 1774--11 September 1826) was veteran of the war of 1812 that was going to write an expose' of the Masons and their rituals and secrets through local newspaper publisher David Cade Miller in Batavia, New York. Masons denounced Morgan and burned Miller's offices. A group of Masons appeared at Morgan's home claiming he owed them money. On 11 September 1826 he was arrested, since in that age there such things as "debtors prison" where someone could be held until the debt was paid. Miller went to the jail and paid what was claimed Morgan owed, and secured his release, just to get him out of their hands. The validity of the claims against Morgan were dubious, at best. A few hours later Morgan was again arrested for a new claim where someone said he owed he owed a creditor for a loan not repaid, and it was alleged he had stolen clothes. This was a ruse to get their hands on him again, and someone claiming to be a friend paid this alleged debt, secured his release and took him off in a carriage. The most commonly told version of what happened after that is that Morgan was taken by boat and drowned in the Niagra River. The Masons deny they murdered him (of course) and say he was paid $500 to leave the area. Morgan was 52, and had a 23 year old wife and two children, and he leaves them? In 1848 a man named Henry L. Valance made a death-bed confession to his part in Morgan's murder. 13 months after this, in October 1827, a badly decomposed body washed up on a Lake Ontario shore, and it was said to be Morgan and was buried under that name. But the widow of a missing Canadian man named Timothy Monroe identified the clothing on the body as Monroe's. Three Masons were tried and convicted, and served (minimal) sentences for, the kidnapping of William Morgan. Miller published Morgan's book, ILLUSTRATIONS OF FREEMASONRY shortly after Morgan disappeared, and the Masons propagated stories of Morgan being seen in Albany as well as foreign countries. The governor of New York, DeWitt Clinton (a freemason) offered a $1000 reward for information on Morgan's whereabouts, but it was never claimed. The kidnapping, disappearance and light sentences given out for it enraged the public and caused an anti-Masonic backlash even outside of New York state. Masonic officials of course did a Mission Impossible ("If you or any your IMF team are caught, the Secretary will disavow any knowledge") and disavowed and condemned the kidnapping.

An interesting New York politician and newspaper publisher named Thurlow Weed started an anti-Masonic movement in 1828 that became a political party, the first "3rd party" and the one that introduced nominating conventions and adoption of party platforms (which are always largely ignored by candidates once they're elected). For an anti-Mason, there were quite a few Masonic things about Weed. He was a Whig and founded its successor, the Republican Party, and was instramental in the nominations of half a dozen presidental candidates, including 3 that were

assassinated (William Henry Harrison-poisoned in 1841, Zachary Taylor-poisoned in 1850, Abraham Lincoln-shot in 1865), Weed was tight with William H. Seward who survived an assassination attempt (stabbing) the night Lincoln was shot; and Weed was an early supporter of Masonic NY governor DeWitt Clinton. In 1825 he bought the Rochester Telegraph newspaper, but was forced out in 1828 by Masonic interests. Weed founded the Albany Evening Journal, the first issue was printed 22 March (22/3) 1830. Lincoln, by the way, was not a Mason but not for lack of trying. He applied to the Tyrian Lodge in Springfield, Illinois, shortly after he was nominated by the Republican Party in 1860, but withdrew his application because, according to the Masons, he felt that it would be viewed as a blatant ploy to gain votes, and that after he left office he'd re-apply to join. William Morgan's widow, Lucinda (Pendleton) Morgan, married a man 20 years her senior (Morgan was 43 and she 16 when they married in 1819) named George Washington Harris, a silversmith in Batavia, New York, in 1830; they moved to the midwest and there became Mormons.

Some historians, such as author Todd Compton, state that by 1838 she became one of founder Joseph Smith's plural wives, but she still lived with Harris. After Smith was murdered in an Illinois jail by a mob in 1844, she was "sealed" to him forever by the LDS practice of baptism for the dead by proxy (a living person is baptised as a proxy for a dead person, sort of a retroactive baptismal, a rite practised by the LDS church to this day and started in 1840). In 1841 the late William Morgan, who would have despised it, was baptised by proxy into the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints/Mormons. Freemasonry has criticised the Mormons for adopting Masonic rituals and regalia. By 1853 the Harris's had separated, when he died in 1860 George W. Harris had been ex-communicated for ceasing to practice the Mormon religion with them (this is often the case in churches where someone decides to call "bullshit" and stop playing the game). Apparently Lucinda Morgan Harris dropped out too, because she joined the Catholic Sisters of Charity in Memphis (just in time for Lincoln's War) and worked at the Leah Asylum. Another possibility on William Morgan's remains surfaced in June 1881 when a grave was discovered a couple miles from an Indian reservation near Pembroke, New York. In the grave was a metal box, containing some crumpled paper. The few legible words suggested that the remains might be William Morgan, the man the Masons swore they didn't kill. On 13 September (13/9) 1882, a group opposed to secret societies called the National Christian Society erected a monument to Morgan with his statue atop it (which was witnessed by 1000 people, including some poobahs from local Masonic lodges) in the Batavia, NY, cemetary, the inscription read in part: "He was abducted from near this spot in the year 1826, by Freemasons and murdered for revealing the secrets of their order." BTW, both Joseph Smith and his father were Masons.

1829 Surrender of the Spanish Expedition sent to re-conquer Mexico  An expedition of 3000-4000 men, a fleet of 5 ships and 14 transports left Havana on 5 July to reconquer Mexico. A bunch of exiles (Mexico had expelled all foreigners, especially Spaniards, in 1827) had convinced Brigadier Isidro Barradas that Mexico was wanting to return to Spanish rule. A storm had scattered the fleet, but they arrived off Tampico on 26 July and landed on the 27th and the first fighting began on 31 July. The Spanish were besieged by a force under Santa Ana, and surrendered on 11 September. 1857 Mountain Meadows Massacre  On  7 September 1857 a wagon train of emigrants from Arkansas going to California stopped at the well-known resting place of the California Trail known as Mountain Meadows for what they thought would be a few days of rest, and replenishing their water and supply of game. But they were attacked by a force of white Mormon militia disguised as Indians and by Paiutes who they had talked into joining them in the attack. The wagon train was known as the Baker- Fancher party. On September 11th with ammunition running low,  as was food and water, they agreed to an offer by the Mormons, led by militia Major John D. Lee, of safe conduct back to Cedar City if they turned over their equipment, including guns, and supplies to the Indians. They made a mile long walk, men separated from the women with a Mormon guard to each man, and when a signal was given the men were shot and the women and children tried to run. They were butchered, except for the very youngest children. These children were placed among Mormon families, and 17 were later reclaimed and taken to relatives in Arkansas. September 11th in history Part 1

Part of a series I'm doing on occult special dates. OK, I don't know if Jesus was born on September 11th as some say, but He wasn't born on December 25 (it's a pagan holiday called Saturnalia) and He wasn't born in the winter, and it was possibly mid-to-late September. The links presented here differ on the year of His birth (the first says 4 B.C and the second says 3 B.C., although both use the Gospel of Luke to make their point. This link says he was born on September 11, 3 B.C... In looking at what the this link says about the number 11, why that day? Well that's the Gregorian calendar, and it didn't exist in either 3 or 4 B.C., and it's predecessor, the Julian calendar, wasn't used to mark time or holy days by the Israelites in Judea or elsewhere.

Certain numbers have special meaning for occultists, especially Masons. Numbers like 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 12, 13, and mutiples of 3 and 11 (such as 33 and 39).

 9 A.D. The Battle of Teutoburg Forest Begins  The great Germanic warrior-hero Arminius, who is known as Hermann, leads allied Germanic tribes to a crushing victory over 3 Roman legions  (the XVII, XVIII and XIX) and allied auxiliary forces led by Publius Quinctilius Varus in the Teutoburg Forest in North Germany. This is the last time Rome will attempt to conquer and permanently hold territory beyond the Rhine River. Varus committed suicide during the three days of battle. Arminius had been a hostage as a child, he grew  up as a Roman citizen, was trained as a Roman soldier and knew their tactics; but he was always a German and didn't forget the  cruelty of the Romans against his and other people.

1297 The Battle of Sterling Bridge  Scots under the leadership of William Wallace--"Braveheart", and Andrew Moray defeat an English army in the First War for Scottish Independence. Moray is wounded and dies in November, Wallace goes on to be knighted,engage in guerrilla warfare against the army of Edward I until he is betrayed by John de Menteith (Stewart/Stuart in 1307); which resulted in his execution by being drawn and quartered.

1609 Henry Hudson Discovers Manhatten Island and enters Upper New York Bay The next day he sails up the Hudson River as far as present day Albany. Hudson was working for the Dutch East India Company, looking for a Norwest Passage to China in the ship Half Moon (Halve Maen in Dutch).

1609 Expulsion order of Moriscos announced (muslim Moorish supposed converts to Catholicism) in the city of Valencia. It begins the expulsion of all Moriscos in Spain. The muslim Moors had invaded Spain in 711 and were there for more than 700 years, until the combined armies of Castille and Aragon took Granada, the last Moorish bastion, in 1492.

1649 Siege of Drogheda, Ireland ends  Part of the Cromwellian conquest of Ireland, Oliver Cromwell had landed in Ireland in August 1649 to re-conquer it for Parliament after the defeat of the Royalists and the execution of King Charles I in the English Civil War. Cromwell's New Model Army was opposed by a coalition of Royalists defeated in the civil war and an Irish Catholic movement called the Confederate Catholic Association. The Siege of Drogheda began on 3 September 1649 and ended on 11 September with the slaughter of 2800 inhabitants.

1697 Battle of Zenta  This was a crushing defeat of Ottoman Turk (muslim) forces in the Balkans by Austrian Hapsburg forces south Zenta (Senta today) in Serbia, who inflicted 30,000 casualties on the Turks at a cost of about 500 men. The defeat forced the Ottoman Empire into losing control of Bosnia (which remains muslim tothis day) and ended their control over large parts of central and eastern Europe with the Treaty of Karlowitz in 1699.

1775 Expedition to capture Quebec City leaves Cambridge Mass under command of Benedict Arnold This mission was undertaken shortly after the revolution started.  It was part of a two pronged attack, the other led by Richard Montgomery invading Quebec Province from Lake Champlain. The expedition passed through the Maine wilderness, and was depending on maps made by a man known to have Loyalist sympathies, named Samuel Goodwin, who had been asked by Rueben Colburn, a boat builder from Maine, to provide maps of the area for the expedition. His maps were deliberately misleading and left off crucial information; Colburn had been introduced to Arnold by George Washington and so Arnold presumed that Colburn was reliable. Being from Maine, he should have known or been able to find out Goodwin's sympathies before trusting him. The expedition was an unmitigated disaster, due in no small part to Goodwin and his false maps. Colburn's boats were leaky and defective, he was never paid and it ruined him financially.

1776 Staten Island Peace Conference  This peace conference was held at Billop Manor, home of Colonel Christopher Billop, on Long Island. This was shortly after the British capture of Long Island. The participants were three members of the Second Continental Congress--Benjamin Franklin, John Adams and Edward Rutledge, and British Admiral Lord William Howe, commander of the British sea forces (his brother General Richard Howe commanded British land forces). Admiral Lord Howe had insisted on being given diplomatic powers to go with his military authority, and King George III had relutantly agreed, but this was undermined by the insistence of Secretary of State for the Colonies Lord George Germain (formerly Lord George Sackville until 1770) who insisted that no agreement with the American colonies that looked like giving in to American grievences regarding not having representation on tax levies ("No Taxation Without Representation") be made. Admiral Howe's ability and authority to negotiate (he had met with Franklin in 1774 and 1775 over these matters and believed that a solution without further violence could be reached) was severely curtailed by this. Germain had a checkered career, once being court-martialed for refusing to obey orders, and ultimately would be blamed as "the man who lost America"; he was Secretary of State for the Colonies from 1770 to 1782.  He was forced out, but given a Viscountcy by the king as a consolation, in early 1782 after the news of the American-French victory at Yorktown, South Carolina arrived in England on 25 November 1781. Prime Minister Frederick North was forced to resign (the first ever British Prime Minister to be forced out by a vote of no-confidence) on 20 March 1782.  North had offered an olive branch shortly before this, saying he would remove all disagreeable acts if the "colonies" ended the war, but it was too late, the Americans were no  longer interested in redressing grievances but in full independence. Had North not listened to Germain but instead granted Admiral Howe diplomatic authority, America may well  have remained British territory. Lord North was the 2nd Earl of Guilford; Guilford County, North Carolina was named after his (supposed) father. Ironically, the Staten Island Peace Conference, which lasted only

three hours, was held on the ninth birthday of Lord North's oldest son, George Augustus North, 3rd Earl of Guilford--11 September 1757 (died on  20 April 1802, 87 years to the day before the birth of Adolph Hitler, whose paternal grandfather was Lionel Nathan Rothschild according to author Greg Hallett in "Hitler Was A  British Agent". Hallett says that both Lionel Nathan and his father Nathan Mayer Rothschild fathered children with Queen Victoria, including the future King Edward VII, who was the real father of Winston Churchill; thus making King Edward VII, Edward VIII, George VI and Churchill cousins of Adolph Hitler). Lord was an honorary title for Frederick North, but he bore such a strong resemblence to King George III that many believed he was actually the son of Frederick, Prince of Wales, the father of George III who died in 1751, and King George II died in 1760, thus Prince Frederick's oldest son (George II's grandson) become king.  And may have been Prime Minister North's half brother. This was not at all  uncommon in British royalty, indeed it was more the rule, before and since.

1777 Battle of Brandywine Creek  Pennsylvania. George Washington commits a couple of critical blunders in not protecting his right flank and by not covering two fords of Brandywine Creek, and nearly has his army annihilated. The only reason he doesn't is due to the British lack of cavalry and General Howe being slow to attack on the exposed American right flank, which gave the Americans time to deploy some men on the high ground at Birmingham Meetinghouse. The Americans were forced to retreat to Chester, which was only not a rout (but instead fairly well organized) due to the efforts of one of Alexander Hamilton's boyfriends, the marquis de Lafayette, who was wounded in the leg. As a result of this defeat, the capitol of Philadelphia was captured and held until June of 1778.

1786 The Annapolis Convention   Twelve delegates from five states, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania and Virginia meet at Annapolis, Maryland to "remedy defects" in the Articles of Confederation regarding barriers to trade (commerce) between the 13 states. The convention was held for three days 11 September to 14 September,  but it was felt that not enough states were represented to make an agreement, since delegates from Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and North Carolina hadn't  arrived in time, and the other four states hadn't sent any delegates at all. The convention produced a report which called for support for another convention in Philadelphia (the national capitol then) in May 1787, which would address the trade problem as well as other issues. This led to the constitutional convention, and shocked and angered some delegates because they felt the true purpose of the convention was to tweek the Articles of Confederation, not to destroy it and create a new document that would create what some thought would become an all powerful national government. This would usurp the rights and authority of the states and become an authoritarian state itself when they had just fought a  war for independence, from just such an authoritarian state, which many knew is what Freemason Alexander Hamilton wanted and was promoting. Which is precisely what happened.

Are the Republicans spiritual successors to the Nazis? Meet the NSGOP.

Whenever this question, or a similar one, is asked, linking the Republicans with the Nazis, reactionary pimps for capitalism like Joe Scarborough, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter, Burton W. Folsom, Thomas L. Friedman and the clowns at the CATO Institute as well as the American Enterprise Institute and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce just go apoplectic. They'll fume and sputter about "socialism is bad" and how they are "conservatives, not Nazis" and that its just as bad to call Republicans Nazis is it is for black U.S. Representative Allen West (R-FL) to say that 78 to 80 members of the Democratic Party are communists...oh wait, Scarborough was the only one to denounce that (very mildly). And you thought McCarthyism was gone. So are they the NSGOP?

THE NAZI PLATFORM OF 1920

Here's the National Socialist German Workers Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei) or NSDAP, i.e. NAZI party, 25 point plan from 1920. On the surface it would be hard to compare these points, for the most part, with Republican positions today. Maybe 3 through 6, and 24 sound similar to Republican positions today. The rest are heavy on the "Socialist" (and pro-trade unions) and light on the "Nationalist". Keep one thing in mind though, then as now, party platforms are window dressing, and are made to be ignored. For example, nationalization of all trusts (13), profit sharing in large industries (14) and expropriation of land (from the rich) without compensation, while helping the poor and working class, would all serve to alienate the wealthy ruling class that the party needed to finance it; therefore it is safe to presume these planks are window dressing to satisfy the rank and file. Similarly, plank 22, abolition of the regular army and creation of a national (volks or people's) army, would alienate the Junkers, the Prussian professional military men that the party also needed on its side. It was just such a threat to the army by SA leader Ernst Rohm that led to his arrest and murder, and the decapitation of the SA leadership, the left wing of the NSDAP, on 30 June 1934. The SA faithful had taken the "Socialism" part of National Socialism seriously and wondered why they weren't getting any spoils that they expected to go along with being the protector and muscle of the party, now that it was in power. Both Republicans and Democrats regularly disappoint supporters by ignoring party platforms and taking positions that help to further enrich their financial supporters, regardless of what they said they were going to do in the platform committees. They are not going to bite the hand that feeds them (Super PACs, the Koch brothers, George Soros, Sheldon Adelson) . That is why the Republicans continually push for tax cuts for the rich, say that corporations are people and try to destroy unions (as the Nazis did), destroy the working class, destroy the middle class and destroy programs like medicare and medicaid that help the poor and elderly; whom Republicans repeatedly show contempt for; and vote against extending
unemployment benefits. The Democratic Party (whom Republicans are always calling "socialists" or "Social Democrats") are also bought by corporate interests (former Democratic congressman Harold Ford Jr went to work for banksters Morgan Stanley and before that he was a Vice Chairman for Merrill Lynch and is a big time pimp for Wall Street) which reinforces my view that Democrats and Republicans are two sides of the same coin, giving the American people the illusion of choice.

After murdering the left of the National Socialist German Workers Party (NSDAP) who truly believed in the 25 points of that 1920 platform, who took "Socialist" seriously, Adolph Hitler went about the real business of fascism. That business is channeling the public's money into corporations and the merchants of death (today called "defense industries") as well as bankers pockets, busting unions (and sending union leaders to concentration camps), "gun control" so the public couldn't resist, persecution of religious minorities and clergy that spoke out against their policies, demonizing the opposition to their policies, federal control of and militarization of police, control of the press, agitating for war, because it's good for business, as this article points out, and for war profiteers. Apparently so are natural disasters (uber fascist Larry Kudlow of CNBC said we should grateful that the "human toll looks to be much worse than the economic toll, and we can be grateful for that", and this scumbag is still on the air). Benito Mussolini was someone who knew a thing or two about fascism, and this was his definition : "Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power". Sounds just like America today, and exactly like the Republican Party.

 AMERICAN COLLABORATION WITH THE NAZIS 1933 THROUGH THE END OF THE WAR

Quite a few American corporations and companies and Wall Street, did business with the Nazis both before and during the Second World War.

Author Anthony Sutton (Wall Street and the Rise of Hitler, Wall Street and the Bolshevik Revolution, The Order of Skull and Bones) speaks here for 40 minutes on American corporations dealing with and financing the Nazis, as well as communist regimes, especially the Soviet Union.

"This build-up for European war both before and after 1933 was in great part due to Wall Street financial assistance in the 1920's to create the German cartel system, and to technical assistance from well-known American firms which will be identified later, to build the German Wehrmacht. Whereas this financial and technical assistance is referred to as 'accidental' or due to the "short-sightedness" of American businessmen, the evidence presented below strongly suggests some degree of premeditation on the part of these American financiers. Similar and unacceptable pleas of "accident" were made on behalf of American financiers and industrialists in the parallel example of building the military power of the Soviet Union from 1917 onwards. Yet these American capitalists were willing to finance and subsidize the Soviet Union while the Vietnam war was underway, knowing that the Soviets were supplying the other side.

"The contribution made by American capitalism to German war preparations before 1940 can only be described as phenomenal. It was certainly crucial to German military capabilities. For instance, in 1934 Germany produced domestically only 300,000 tons of natural petroleum products and less than 800,000 tons of synthetic gasoline; the balance was imported. Yet, ten years later in World War II, after transfer of the Standard Oil of New Jersey hydrogenation patents and technology to I.G. Farben (used to produce synthetic gasoline from coal), Germany produced about 6 1/2 million tons of oil — of which 85 percent (5 1/2 million tons) was synthetic oil using the Standard Oil hydrogenation process. Moreover, the control of synthetic oil output in Germany was held by the I. G. Farben subsidiary, Braunkohle-Benzin A. G., and this Farben cartel itself was created in 1926 with Wall Street financial assistance."

These companies were such as Standard Oil (Rockefellers), Chase National Bank (which acquired Equitable Trust Company of New York in 1930, major stockholder was John D. Rockefeller Jr), Bank of the Manhattan Company (through a merger in 1929 made Paul Warburg its chairman) which merged with Chase in 1955, Kuhn, Loeb & Company, General Electric, J.P. Morgan, Ford Motor Company, General Motors, du Pont.

Then there's the Brown Brothers Harriman link to the Nazis, and their agent, Prescott Bush, who dealt with and handled business dealings with the Nazis and their Union Banking Corporation and German industrialist Fritz Thyssen well after the United States and Nazi Germany were at war with each other (and was taken over by the U.S. Government in October 1942 under the Trading With The Enemy Act). Prescott Bush, of course, became a U.S. Senator and was the father of George Herbert Walker Bush, grandfather to George Walker Bush, Jeb Bush, Neil Mallon Bush and Marvin Bush. Not to mention the corrupt Harriman brothers, especially the snake-in-the-grass W Averell Harriman, who was a Democrat (his brother E. Roland was a Republican (as I said, two sides of the same coin) and their corrupt lawyers who worked for the firm of Sullivan & Cromwell, the Dulles brothers. John Foster Dulles was the chief contact for S&C with the Nazis, and became Secretary of State under Eisenhower from 1953 to his death in 1959; he was instrumental in the overthrow of the democratically elected Mossadegh government in Iran in 1953 and the overthrow of the democratically elected Arbenz regime in Guatemala in 1954. Allen Dulles was a former chairman and treasurer of the Council on Foreign Relations and met Hitler and Mussolini while a "legal adviser" to the League of Nations. He became Director of the CIA in 1953 until relieved in November 1961 by President Kennedy after the Bay of Pigs disaster; then was placed as a member of the Warren Commission as a fox in the hen house. At the CIA he controlled the overthrow of Mossadegh and Arbenz, the murder attempts against Fidel Castro, the penetration of American and foreign media outlets by CIA agents (like William F. Buckley and Joseph Alsop) and the sabotage of Francis Gary Powers U-2 flight to destroy the summit between Khrushchev and Eisenhower.

All but W. Averell Harriman were officially Republicans. The Harriman brothers, Prescott Bush, George Herbert Walker Bush, George W. Bush and William F. Buckley are all Skull & Bones.


BUSINESS PLOT TO OVERTHROW FDR IN 1933

In the summer of 1933 (a year after Hoover and MacArthur destroyed the Bonus Army march) a plot was hatched by some of the wealthiest members of the ruling class in America, connected to big time corporations such as du Pont and J.P. Morgan bank, to overthrow or coerce President Franklin D. Roosevelt to adapt fascist policies to deal with the financial crisis these uber capitalist Republicans created, the Great Depression. It became known as The Business Plot. The plan was for a force of half a million men made up mostly of members of the American Legion (an organization that at the time Butler distrusted, believing to be controlled by banking interests and it's leaders to have sold out the membership) to be led by retired USMC Major General Smedley Darlington Butler, a highly decorated (including two Medals of Honor) veteran of the Spanish-American War, "Philippine Insurrection", Boxer Rebellion, various invasions of the "Banana Wars", action at Vera Cruz, Mexico in 1914 and World War I.


Butler said that he had been approached, in an attempt at recruiting, by Gerald G. MacGuire, a former Connecticut American Legion commander and a bond salesman for Robert Sterling Clark, a wealthy Wall Street banker and stock broker. When MacGuire flashed a big bankbook and talked about a lot of cash for the plot, Butler, who was playing along just to see how deep this ran and who all was involved, demanded to meet Clark. During the meeting, Clark said Roosevelt was weak and would go along, 'return to his class'. A reporter named Paul Comly French also met with MacGuire. The plotters had created an organization called The Liberty League, "({t}he League was was funded by donations from US Steel, General Motors, Chase Manhattan Bank, Standard Oil, Goodyear and the Dupont family, among others.  Not surprisingly, the League would later actively oppose almost every major piece of New Deal legislation, including, but not limited too Social Security).


" 'According to the former general, MacGuire described to Butler 'what was tantamount to a plot to seize the government, by force if necessary.' MacGuire, said Butler, explained that he had traveled to Europe to study the role played by veterans' groups in propping up Mussolini's fascist Italy, Hitler's Nazi Germany, and the French government. MacGuire lauded France's Croix de Feu as 'an organization of super-soldiers' with profound political influence. Then the man with the silver plate in his cranium announced that 'our idea here in America' is to 'get up an organization of this kind' because 'the political setup has got to be changed a bit.' "

General Butler eventually reported all this to a congressional committee, the McCormack-Dickstein Committee, the forerunner of the House Un-American Activities Committee, run by Rep. John W. McCormack (D-MA) and Rep. Samuel Dickstein (D-NY), a Lithuanian (Russian Empire at the time) born Jew who turned out to be a paid agent of the NKVD, the Soviet intelligence and secret police agency. Despite the testimony of General Butler and reporter French, the committee did really nothing. Butler had named as being involved such prominent people as:
* Irenee du Pont - Right-wing chemical industrialist and founder of the American Liberty League, the organization assigned to execute the plot.
    * Grayson Murphy - Director of Goodyear, Bethlehem Steel and a group of J.P. Morgan banks.
    * William Doyle - Former state commander of the American Legion and a central plotter of the coup.
    * John Davis - Former Democratic presidential nominee (1924) and a senior attorney for J.P. Morgan.
    * Al Smith - Roosevelt's bitter political foe from New York. Smith was a former governor of New York (Democratic nominee 1928) and a co-director of the American Liberty League. Smith was in bed with the NY mafia. When told they were backing Roosevelt (Frank Costello's favorite), Smith was crushed and started turning against Roosevelt.
    * John J. Raskob - A high-ranking Du Pont officer and a former chairman of the Democratic Party, and president of General Motors. In later decades, Raskob would become a "Knight of Malta," a Roman Catholic Religious Order with a high percentage of CIA spies, including CIA Directors William Casey, William Colby and John McCone.
    * Robert Sterling Clark - One of Wall Street's richest bankers and stockbrokers.
    * Gerald MacGuire - Bond salesman for Clark, and a former commander of the Connecticut American Legion. MacGuire was the key recruiter to General Butler.

All denied any involvement and none but MacGuire was called to testify. Butler said the names of these people were edited out of transcripts, even though they plotted treason (Prescott Bush was one of the conspirators too). Clark was right when he said "we have the newspapers", the New York Times called General Butler's testimony "a giant hoax" and Time, owned by right-wing Republican Henry Luce, Skull & Bones, called it "a plot without plotters".

Was the Business Plot a False Flag Operation to make FDR more acceptable 

There is some reason to think, as Dr. Henry Makow states, that the Business Plot was a false flag operation designed to make the rich Roosevelt more acceptable to average Americans. Butler had been forced to retire at the end of 1931, he'd been threatened with court-martial in 1924 for repeating gossip about Benito Mussolini being in a hit-and-run accident and calling him a "mad dog" and saying Mussolini and his cohorts were about to break loose in Europe. Butler had, since his retirement, been on the lecture circuit talking about how he and the military had been used as "gangsters for capitalism" and "high class muscle" for corporations in the Caribbean during the various invasions of the "Banana Wars". He donated most of his speaking fees to unemployed veterans. He'd turned against Hoover after being a life-long Republican after the Bonus Army debacle. Butler was denouncing capitalism when he was approached by MacGuire, and after the McCormack-Dickstein hearings, published his book War Is A Racket. MacArthur proved he's a guy who would have carried out the desires of the fascist Republican capitalists but was hated by many veterans for what he did to the Bonus Army along with Patton and Eisenhower. Smedley Butler was the last guy you'd ask to commit treason and lead an army to overthrow the government to install fascism, unless it was your intention to have it exposed and have your alleged victim look good. Why was no one but MacGuire called to testify? Why were portions of General Butler's testimony excised from the report? Why was there no mention of The American Liberty League, or any of it's big shot members and financiers? Why was no one prosecuted? None of these questions were ever answered.

And it was fear of the Bonus Army, not Depression Era gangsters, that led to the National Firearms Act of 1934. Congress was scared shitless when the unarmed Bonus Army marchers were demonstrating outside the capital, two were murdered by police and two babies were murdered with tear gas by MacArthur's troops. The collective thought had to have been "wow, we can't let trained veterans have automatic weapons". This came after food riots in America and elsewhere in 1931 and Hunger Marches in 1932, including the violent (by Ford goons) Ford Hunger March were taking place before and at the same time as the Bonus March. The rich that own both parties got scared.

Britt wrote an article for Free Inquiry magazine, published by the Council for Secular Humanism, called "Fascism Anyone?" that listed 14 characteristics of seven fascist states studies, all 14 apply to the United States today, and in particular apply to the Republican Party. These 14 characteristics are taken from Hitler's Germany, Mussolini's Italy, Franco's Spain, Salazar's Portugal, Pinochet's Chile, Suharto's Indonesia and Papadopoulos' Greece. They are by no means the only defining characteristics of fascism or a fascist state, but are common to all seven of those states. They are:
1. Powerful and continuing expressions of nationalism.
2. Disdain for the importance of human rights.
3. Identification of enemies/scapegoats as a unifying cause
4. Supremacy of the military/avid militarism
5. Rampant sexism
6. A controlled mass media
7. Obsession with "national security"
8. Religion and ruling elite tied together
9. Power of corporations protected
10. Power of labor suppressed or eliminated
11. Disdain and suppression of intellectuals and the arts
12. Obsession with crime and punishment
13. Rampant cronyism and corruption
14. Fraudulent elections

One doesn't have to go back more than a dozen years in most of these to find a plethora of examples of these things in the USA. 

1) You can't go to any sporting event at any level, children to professional, without seeing uniformed "color guards" carrying flags on the field, the national anthem being played (as the late comedian George Carlin asked, why are we the only ones with a national anthem with bombs and rockets in it?), flags waving. Schools have a "pledge of allegiance" and it says "one nation, indivisible" (a slap at secession). Ever since the false flag "terrorist attacks" of September 2001 cars have flags waving from them or flag stickers stuck on them as well as jingoistic, simplistic slogans, the NFL put flag stickers on the back of every helmet of every team. As actor Peter Fonda said, when he wore a flag on the back of a leather jacket when they were about to start filming Easy Rider in 1968, cops pulled him over and hassled him about "desecrating" it; now every cop in the country, as well as firemen and EMT's, have flags on the sleeves of shirts and jackets.

2) See Alberto Gonzalez and his comments about the Geneva Convention being "quaint" and "obsolete" for this one. Not to mention "extraordinary rendition", waterboarding, the atrocities and war crimes at Abu Ghraib and Iraq in general, in Afghanistan, Panama, Vietnam, Waco, Ruby Ridge, The Move in Philadelphia, the grossly misnamed PATRIOT Act, the star chamber military trials, Guantanamo gulag, the 'other losses' war crimes against German POWs, the rounding up of Japanese, German and Italians into concentration camps in World War II, etc.

3) Here we can think of the use of terms like "Islamofascists", the attacks on Islam, referring to anyone who opposes U.S. forces in their country as a "terrorist", Bush's "you're either with us or with the terrorists" crack, FOX "News" constant racist attacks against Muslims, the hysteria against Ozzie Guillen for saying something insufficiently demonizing about Fidel Castro, the Palmer Raids/McCarthyism witch hunts against "communists" (while ignoring the Soviet agents in FDR's cabinet), demonizing war protesters and resisters.

4) The colossal glorification of the military today, especially in comparison with the way Vietnam veterans were treated, is amazing. It too is a result of the false flag "terrorist attacks" of 11 September 2001. Even a mundane event like the NFL draft, as well as football games and other sporting events, feature men and women in uniforms being feted, lavish spending on recruiting ads ("the U.S. Navy, a global force for good"), universities being forced to admit military recruiters if they accept federal funds for anything, military discounts, a huge DoD budget, the constant use of the word "hero" for anyone in a military uniform regardless of what they have or haven't done. It's like Sparta, ancient Rome or Imperial Japan.


5) The Republican Party is a particular offender on this one. Rush Limbaugh's use of the word "slut" to describe a woman who testified before Congress, the defeat of the Paycheck Fairness Act, Mitt Romney's refusal to denounce Limbaugh (who was caught with prescription for Viagra in someone else's name coming back from the Dominican Republic--child sex capital of the world) for the "slut" comment, the attack on Planned Parenthood and insurance coverage of contraceptives, trying to force women to bear children of rape or incest, the T&A television shows and commercials, Herman Cain, etc.

6) The mass media in the United States of America is owned by just a few corporations. Bain Capital (Mitt Romney's vulture capitalism co.)/Thomas H. Lee Partners owns Clear Channel, the largest radio station owner in the U.S., they have 866 radio stations which run the Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity shows. The Walt Disney Co.owns ABC, ESPN, 42% of the following: A&E, Lifetime, History Channel, Biography Channel, Lifetime Real Women, Lifetime Movie Network, History International, Live Well Network; also SOAPnet, Pixar, 277 radio stations, 8 TV stations, Marvel Publishing, Marvel Entertainment, about 4 record labels. CBS owns CBS television including 29 TV stations, CBS radio including 130 radio stations, 50% of CW network (formerly WB and UPN), Showtime cable network, Smithsonian Networks, Simon & Schuster publishing, Pocket Books, Scribner. Time Warner owns Warner Brothers Television Group (including Warner Brothers Pictures), TBS, TNT, CNN, Headline News (CNN), HBO, Cinemax, Turner Classic Movies (TCM), Cartoon Network, truTV (formerly Court TV), New Line Cinema, DC Comics...Time Warner is the 2nd largest entertainment conglomerate in the world. Viacom is the 4th largest media conglomerate in the world, it owns 160 networks that reach over 600 million people around the world; including MTV, VH1, BET, CMT, Nickelodean, Comedy Central, TV Land, Spike TV, Viacom Filmed Entertainment. News Corp is owned by Zionist sleazebag Rupert Murdoch, it owns FOX News Channel, FOX Business Channel (which is home to Don Imus), FX, National Geographic Channel, FSN, Hulu, the Wall Street Journal, New York Post, TV Guide, Barron's, SmartMoney, HarperCollins publisher, 20th Century Fox, NY Daily News, News International (the Times, Sunday Times and the Sun), and more. 7). If that doesn't define the Republicans, nothing does. Those two magic words, "national security", are a catch-all for anything that the government, especially Republicans, don't want the public to know. And the crushing of civil liberties, the shredding of the Constitution via the grossly misnamed PATRIOT Act (that Obama campaigned against but keeps extending), withholding of documents, redacting documents under Freedom of Information Act requests, indefinite "detention", "extraordinary rendition", FICA court after-the-fact warrants, what they're doing to Bradley Manning and much more are all done in the name of "national security".

8) Think that guys like Billy Graham, Jerry Falwell, Jimmy Swaggert, Pat Robertson got where they are without toeing the line set by the ruling elite in this country? Think they get the airtime and tax-exempt status they enjoy without playing ball with the Israel lobby, the Department of Defense, State Department, corporations and people named Rockefeller, Rothschild and Warburg? Think again, because they and others are all pushing a Zionist, government agenda. Zionism is a political philosophy, and many a "Christian" has devoted himself or herself to it, to the point that they're hoping for a nuclear war to usher in the return of Christ (in their minds); in that philosophy Palestine only belongs to one people, and Arab Muslims aren't it. These guys are leading a push for war, against Iran, and against a lot of Americans. They'll preach obedience and subservience to the government and quote a scripture like "Render unto Caesar" to try to support it, and get taken care of in return. And they're all Republicans telling the faithful to vote for the Republican candidate.

9) Think Mitt Romney on this, "corporations are people, my friend". Think also of guys like Rep. Joe Barton (R-TX) and his infamous "slush fund" and "shakedown" comments during a congressional hearing questioning British Petroleum's CEO Tony Hayward about the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil rig disaster that killed 11 men, and two more from sunstroke during the cleanup (Hayward is now CEO of Genel Energy, a Turkish oil and gas company operating in Iraq, which was bought by Vallares Plc, an investment firm co-founded by Hayward and Nathaniel Rothschild). Barton also was trying to gut the Environmental Protection Agency and cut it's power to enforce clean air regulations of power plants and oil refineries. Barton is a pimp for the oil industry, he has received $1,448, 380 from the oil industry since 1990 as of June 2010. The constituency of the Republican Party is the rich, and corporations; and it always has been.


10) Seen what's just happened in Wisconsin with a fascist governor named Scott Walker? New Jersey under that fat bastard Chris Christie? Michigan? "The Republicans have traded scabs and club-wielding goons for legislation to destroy unions. They have managed to demonize unions in the minds of non-unionized Americans until only 10% of Americans belong to unions any more. Their talking heads have convinced the gullible that unions caused our economic collapse instead of the guys in the banking and financial industries that are right now paying themselves tens of millions of dollars in bonuses. The history of the labor movement in America got dropped from our history curriculum so people don’t understand what a union is anymore."  What the Republicans are doing in union busting is putting more money into the pockets of their owners, the 1%, at the expense of everyone else, and it's to de-fund the Democratic Party.

11) As George Carlin said, the owners of this country aren't interested in a smart, educated populace cable of critical thinking. That doesn't help them. This article hits it on the head also, like Carlin did:

"What was until recently a difference in ideology has devolved, in a little over a decade, into a difference in intellect. Somewhere along the way, Ronald Reagan gave up his throne to Sarah Palin; George Will and Charles Krauthammer took a back seat to Limbaugh, Beck, and Hannity; and the likes of Joe the Plumber replaced the likes of Colin Powell as the heroes of the New Republicans.

"It's not that the existing Republicans actually got dumber; but that the torch was somehow passed without the brains...

"By painting educated, well-earning, science-embracing, articulate, introspective, intellectual citizens as un-American, the Republican party has built an entire base made up of those who not only don't possess these attributes, but enthusiastically abhor those who do. Not only are these factions now split along lines of educational achievement, socioeconomic status, and cultural and religious values, but most significantly, along an 'intellectual divide'.

"The Republicans have been able to coalesce around them a base of voters that are on the more vulnerable and malleable side of this divide. Karl Rove scored twice in the election and re-election of George W. Bush by effectively -- and impressively -- constructing political strategy on the working assumption that the majority of people are ignorant and/or intellectually deficient, and therefore manipulable. So, if you can be loud enough and simultaneously inject enough fear into your target population (WMD's in Iraq, Saddam causing 9/11, gays getting married, or Obama = socialism = Hitler), they will believe whatever you tell them. This is what enabled wealthy politicians and oil corporations to send economically disadvantaged teenagers to war and lay off their blue collar working class parents -- as their jobs were sent overseas for cheap labor and massive profits -- and yet still get them to vote them back into office."

12) A lot is said about crime, and harsher sentences. Nixon ran as a "law and order" candidate, and every Republican since has. The United States has the highest percentage of its population incarcerated than any other country in the world. 1 out of 100 people in the United States is in prison, from 1990 to 2005 the number of incarcerated people grew by a whopping 700%! "The rate of imprisonment for all men above age 18 is one in 54; for Latinos it is one in 36; and for Blacks it is one in 15". A lot of that is for "drug crimes", including marijuana. For-profit prisons have a lot to do with that too, part of the Republicans plan to "privatize" everything.  A lot of money is to be made in this virtual slave labor system, but companies like Corrections Corporation of America, the largest private prison company in America, are making money hand over fist. CCA has a plan to buy prisons from cash-strapped states.

13) There are not many places you'll look where there isn't corruption, and a lot cronyism. Cities like Chicago and New York (from even before the Boss Tweed era) are famous for it. The federal government and state governments almost daily have stories of it. How was it that Halliburton got all those no-bid contracts in Iraq after the U.S. invasion? Well who was the CEO of Halliburton until he was put on the Republican ticket in 2000...Dick Cheney. Billions of dollars in cash disappeared in Iraq, as much as $27.2 billion is unaccounted for. Enron collapsed destroying employees pensions, but top execs skated out with millions, run by Bush crony Kenneth Lay. Neil Bush presided over Silverado Savings and Loan during the S&L scandal of the 1980's, he enriched himself and cronies like Kenneth L. Good, Bill Waters and Larry Mizel. Bush managed to not be charged (he was a member of the Board of Directors), it helps when your dad is the Vice President of the United States and a life-long CIA man and Skull & Bones member, but faced a civil suit by the FDIC for which he paid a mere $50,000 as his settlement. Bush family was also pals with the Hinkley family, and Neil was to have dinner with John Hinkley's older brother the night after the assassination attempt on President Reagan. Privatizing the Iraq War with mercenaries (and now doing it in Somalia), excuse me, "security contractors", cost the American public billions of dollars.Former Halliburton branch Kellogg/Brown/Root was linked to the vast majority of war-zone fraud cases, about $13 billion in questioned claims (KBR made $32 billion from 2001 to 2009, the largest single beneficiary of the war).

14) See 2000 election theft and the horrible consequences  of it for the world. Also see 2004 election theft. You can go back to the 1876 election for that matter.

I would add a 15) Gun control/confiscation  It is a hallmark of all fascist and totalitarian regimes and systems to take away the people's means to resist. This is usually done through the other side of the coin, the Democrats, but they are doing the bidding of what Carlin, and movie director John Carpenter, called our owners.

So, are the Republicans the spiritual successors to the Nazis? You bet your jackboots they are. As Michael C. Ruppert said to an audience at Portland State University in November 2001, "the Third Reich did not lose the Second World War, it just changed venues". It changed names too, and the Republicans ought to be known as the NSGOP.

Why is a charlatan like Al Sharpton still taken seriously?

"The Reverend" Alfred Charles "Al" Sharpton Jr. has been a regular guest on MSNBC (or as I call it BSNBC) network especially on Morning Joke, Bill O'Reilly kissed his ass and offered him air time when he was trying to disrupt the 2004 Democratic National Convention with an off-the-script speech that ran 23 minutes when he was allotted 6 minutes (he's a regular "contributor" on FOX/FAUX News too), and BSNBC has now given him his own TV show called "Politics Nation". But should Al Sharpton, a shameless self-promoter, hoaxer and inciter or riots, even be taken seriously? The answer, it seems to me, is no.

Al Sharpton Jr. was born on 3 October 1954 in the Brownsville neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY; he "preached" his first sermon at age 4 and toured with the great gospel singer Mahalia Jackson. When he was 8 or 9 his father left his mother to take up with Al Jr.'s half-sister. His mother's work as a maid was too low to stay in their middle class neighborhood of Hollis, Queens, so they had to move to the public housing projects back in Brownsville, Brooklyn. Sharpton graduated from now-defunct Samuel J. Tilden High School, named for the former New York governor who actually won the 1876 presidential election which was stolen by the Republicans (and you thought 2000 was the first?). In 1969 Sharpton was appointed by another religious/racialist huckster, Jesse Jackson, to the be the youth director of Operation Breadbasket, founded in 1962 as a department of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) and run by Rev. Fred C. Bennette in Atlanta. Jackson was named head of the Chicago branch of Operation Breadbasket (Chicago became Jackson's base, as it is for former "community organizer" Barak Obama), and Breadbasket used boycotts to get more jobs for blacks. Jackson came to use them to get jobs and concessions for family members Jackson is a huckster who used the murder of Martin Luther King Jr. to promote himself and vault past others who had paid their dues in the civil rights movement like Ralph Abernathy. Jackson flew to Chicago the night of April 4, 1968 and was booked on television wearing a bloody turtleneck and claiming he held the dying King in his arms and King spoke his last words to him (which was a colossal lie because the bullet wound to MLK would have left him unable to speak; and it was Abernathy, who was on the balcony with King when he was shot--Jackson was below in the parking lot--who held King's body). Republican/corporate mouthpiece FOX/FAUX News hired the supposedly left-wing Jackson's daughter Santita. Jesse Jackson Sr. has recently been accused of having an affair with a white female FOX News "contributor" named Tamara Holder. The accusations are made by Jackson's personal travel assistant Tommy R. Bennett, who ran the PUSH/EXTORT (oops, I mean PUSH/EXCEL, the organization Jackson started after he quit the SCLC after being suspended by Abernathy for "acts of impropriety" and violating SCLC policy) legal clinic. This isn't surprising, in 1999 Jackson had an affair with a staffer Karin Stanford in which he fathered a daughter, Ashley (born May 1999). Jackson paid $35,000 of hush money out of RAINBOW/PUSH funds (which CNN and others have questioned the legality of--unlike John Edwards, he was never charged with a crime). On Memorial Day, 25 May 1987, Jesse Jackson was made a Master Mason, the third and highest of the three degrees of freemasonry, and initiated into Prince Hall Freemasonry. Among the members of that branch of freemasonry are, according to this website, and this site, is Al Sharpton. Amazing how these men of the cloth forget the commandments about adultery and about how they can't serve God and mammon (money).

In 1971 Al Sharpton Jr. founded the National Youth Movement, after quitting the SCLC in protest over Jackson's suspension.

Sharpton started his race-baiting career in 1984 after Bernard Goetz shot 4 black muggers on a subway train on 22 December 1984. Two years later he was leading marchers through the Howard Beach section of Queens on 27 December 1986, seven days after 3 young blacks were chased by many whites onto the Belt Parkway where one was hit by a car and killed. This stunt put Sharpton on the map.With him leading the march was a "civil rights" lawyer named Alton Maddox. These two, along with another lawyer named C. Vernon Mason, would become prominent 11 months later when a black 15 year old (three weeks away from her 16th birthday) claimed that she'd been kidnapped, raped and assaulted by several white men, one of whom, she said, had a badge, in the woods.

TAWANA BRAWLEY HOAX 1987

On November 28, 1987 a black teenage girl just three weeks short of her 16th birthday was discovered by Lorenzo Lloray in a plastic trash bag, lying on the ground. Mrs. Joyce Lloray had looked out the sliding glass door of her apartment, only to see the girl climbing into the trash bag and lying down on the cold, wet ground. She asked her husband to take a look, and when the girl didn't respond to his questions, they called the Duchess County Sheriff's office. When the cops and EMT's got there, they found the girl's clothes torn, cut and partially burned. On her chest and torso the words, "Nigger", "Bitch" and "KKK" had been drawn, apparently with charcoal, and feces was smeared on her and her clothes. The girl was taken to a hospital and the FBI was called in for an apparent civil rights violation, a rape kit was administered and sent to the FBI lab.


The girl's name was Tawana Brawley, and her mother Glenda Brawley was called to the hospital. She arrived with her live-in boyfriend Ralph King, who reeked of alcohol and began a rant yelling not to talk to the cops and how he was going to call a lawyer. They wanted her questioned by a black policeman, and one was called in from the Poughkeepsie, NY, police department. The Brawley's lived in Wappinger, New York, which bordered Poughkeepsie, and part of it was in the village of Wappingers Falls. Tawana wouldn't speak but wrote down "white cop" on the policeman's notebook, and nodded in the affirmative when asked if a white policeman had assaulted her. Through this question and non-verbal answer session, she said 3 or more attackers had raped her "a lot" and gave a description of a light-blond male, about 32, six feet four inches tall, thin build. The media jumped on this, including the NY Times, LA Times and Washington Post, and rumor was printed as though it was fact, in a racially charged atmosphere.

On 14 December, 1987, Louis Farrakhan, the leader of the Nation of Islam, led 1000 people on a march through Newburgh, NY; among the marchers were "The Reverend"  Al Sharpton and lawyer Alton H. Maddox. On 10 February 1988 actor and comedian Bill Cosby and Essence magazine publisher Edward Lewis put up a $25,000 reward for information about Tawana Brawley's alleged assailants. On 4 April 1988 (the 20th anniversary of Martin Luther King's murder) Sharpton and activist/folk singer Pete Seeger held a rally to support Brawley at the state capital, Albany; Phil Donohue broadcast live from a rally. A grand jury investigated the case for seven months, and every day protestors were bussed in to chant outside the courthouse, often led by Al Sharpton. Glenda Brawley and Ralph King, her boyfriend, called in three "advisers" while the case was being investigated by a grand jury, anticipating a big lawsuit settlement; the three were lawyers Alton H. Maddox, C. Vernon Mason and "The Reverend" Al Sharpton.

Glenda Brawley and Ralph King had wanted a special prosecutor, not a grand jury. So it came as no surprise that "advisor" Al Sharpton accused a part-time policeman who had committed suicide on 2 December 1987 (and only slightly fit the description Tawana haphazardly put out) named Harry Crist Jr. Crist's whereabouts during the four days Brawley was missing were examined, his alibi was provided by Assistant District Attorney Steven Pagones and New York State Trooper Scott Patterson. Sharpton proclaimed Crist guilty posthumously, and also accused Assistant D.A. Pagones. The investigation into Crist's whereabouts revealed he'd been upset over a lack of career advancement and his suicide occured only hours after the breakup of a relationship with a women he deeply loved. With no evidence at all and no regard for the Crist family, Sharpton smeared the dead man as a child rapist. As if that wasn't bad enough, he then accused not only Pagones but Trooper Patterson as two of the rapists, and accused Assistant D.A. Pagones of murdering Crist to maintain a coverup (that he alleged Governor Mario Cuomo was part of). Sharpton accused NY State Attorney General Robert Abrams, who is Jewish, of masturbating over photos of Brawley and compared Abrams to Hitler. The troika of Sharpton/Maddox/Mason claimed Governor Cuomo had ties to the mafia and the Ku Klux Klan, and that Assistant D.A. Pagones had "organized crime cronies"; and said this on various national TV outlets.

But the Tawana Brawley case had started to unravel early on. The FBI lab could find no evidence of rape from the kit samples taken and sent to them, forensics tests showed no exposure to the elements that a gang rape in the woods in late November would be expected to occur. She had been seen entering an apartment at the Pavillion Apartments, where the Lloray's lived, and where she and her mother had once lived, on the morning of the alleged abduction. She had no cuts or scrapes other than one behind the ear that was several days old, her mother Brenda was spotted at the Pavillion shortly before Tawana was seen getting into the garbage bag, it was sometime that afternoon before her mother reported her missing. Evidence was turned up indicating the damage to Tawana's clothes occurred at the Pavillion apartment 19A. The feces had come from a neighbor's dog.

Glenda Brawley was subpoenaed to appear before the grand jury but failed to appear, a warrant for her arrest was issued. The troika took her to a Baptist church in the hopes that the police would force their way in and arrest her; didn't happen. Two of Sharpton's associates quit, saying that Sharpton knew all along the story was a hoax. Black leaders like Roy Innes of the Congress of Racial Equality criticized Sharpton and the others for the whole mess, saying it would damage the credibility of others who were real victims.

After seven months of painstaking investigation, the conclusion of the grand jury, in a 170 page report, was that Tawana Brawley was never kidnapped, never raped, never brutalized, and the whole thing was a hoax concocted after Tawana skipped school to go see an old boyfriend, Todd Buxton, incarcerated in the Orange County Jail in Newburgh. The grand jury concluded that the late Harry Crist, Assistant D.A. Steven Pagones and State Trooper Scott Patterson had nothing to do with anything. Steven Pagones sued for $395 million in damages, naming Tawana Brawley also since she said repeatedly she agreed with all the "advisers" were doing and saying. He was awarded $345,000 in damages against Sharpton, Maddox and Mason, and Tawana Brawley was ordered to pay $185,000.

Alton Maddox was suspended indefinitely in 1990 from practicing law in New York state for refusing to testify in a grievance hearing regarding his conduct in the Brawley hoax. C Vernon Mason was disbarred in 1995 by the New York State Appellate Court for "professional misconduct". The court cited 66 cases of misconduct with 20 clients over the course of 6 years. Typically, both Maddox and Mason claimed it was retaliation for defending Tawana Brawley and because they were black. In 1998 Al Sharpton had only paid $15,000 to Steven Pagones, eventually the rest of his share of the defamation award was paid by a group of wealthy black businessmen, including: Percy Sutton, the head of Inner City Broadcasting Corp, Earl Graves Sr., chairman of Black Enterprise magazine, the late lawyer Johnnie Cochran of O.J. Simpson fame, Bill Tatum publisher Amsterdam News, car dealer Richard Gidron (president of Dick Gidron Cadillac and also a Prince Hall Freemason) and the aforementioned Ed Lewis. Tawana Brawley moved out of New York State to Washington D.C. and changed her name to Maryam Muhammad, and has toured black colleges collecting speaking fees for telling the same lies. She is as unrepentant about the damage she cause to other people and their families (the Pagones' divorced, Steven blamed the stress of the accusations as a cause) as Al Sharpton is. Maddox resurfaced in 2009 as part of Manhattan D.A.-elect Cy Vance's transition team.

 Post Brawley Hoax

This experience taught Sharpton nothing, except that some people are stupid enough to believe anything, and that in his case, bad publicity is better than no publicity. A year after the Brawley story was exposed as a hoax, he involved himself in a case in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, where three black kids were chased and beaten by a group of whites (estimates vary widely, from 10 to 30). One of the pursuers shot and killed 16 year old Yusaf Hawkins. At the time of this incident, Bensonhurst was primarily an Italian district. Sharpton saw a chance to gain more notoriety and led another "protest march" in a racially charged situation, as well as threatening that Hawkins three companions would not co-operate with authorities unless they hired more black attorneys (they did co-operate). After one of the two men who went on trial was acquitted of a murder charge (but convicted on several other charges) he led another march. On 12 January 1991 he was about to lead a third march when he was stabbed, but survived. Although he had a "security detail", Sharpton sued the city for not protecting him. On 8 December 2003 (23rd anniversary of John Lennon's murder in New York) the city reached a settlement with Sharpton for $200,000 (none of which went to Steven Pagones, the Crist family or Scott Patterson). Sharpton was stabbed the same day that Congress abrogated its constitutional duty to declare (or not declare) war, and voted to "authorize the use of force" against Iraq to remove them from Kuwait, after Ambassador April Glaspie had told Saddam Hussein what Iraq did in Kuwait didn't concern the United States.

In 1991, the stabbing didn't stop Sharpton from forming the National Action Network. It has been investigated for tax "payment irregularities". As of 2006 NAN owed $1.9 million in taxes and penalties. Sharpton learned well from his mentor Jesse Jackson, and has engaged in threatening companies and corporations with boycotts and protest rallies while at the same time "soliciting" donations and sponsorships from them. Several corporations including Anheuser-Busch and Colgate-Palmolive have donated large sums to the National Action Network, as well as GM, Chase bank, Pepsi, FedEx, Wal-Mart and Johnson & Johnson among others.. The New York Post claims this was a shakedown, donations made to avoid boycotts (Anheuser-Busch is said  to have given a Budweiser distributorship to Jesse Jackson's sons Jonathon and Yusef to avoid a boycott).

CROWN HEIGHTS--SHARPTON INCITES A RIOT AND MURDER

On 19 August 1991, a 22 year old Jewish man named Yosef Lifsh was driving a station wagon with three passengers as part of a three car motorcade of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, leader of a Hasidic sect he belonged to. The motorcade was led by an unmarked police car with a flashing light, Lifsh fell behind and continued on through an intersection to rejoin the other cars. He said that he thought he had the right-of-way because of the police car escort (even though he'd fallen behind). His station wagon hit another car that thought it had the right-of-way, veered onto the sidewalk, knocking down a 600 pound stone building pillar and hit the wall of of an apartment building. The wall collapsed and fell onto 7 year old Gavin Cato, the son of immigrants from Guyana, who was attempting to fix the chain on his bicycle, and his 7 year old cousin Angela Cato who was playing nearby. Gavin was killed, Angela was severely injured. There is no unanimity among witnesses about the speed of Lifsh's car, or weather the light was red or yellow (unless the other car ran a red light, the light was red for Lifsh's car). Yosef Lifsh claims he tried to lift the car off the kids first thing (a 1991 or earlier station wagon? Good luck lifting that). Then he got into the car when three or four angry men came, the first emergency personnel on the scene about 3 minutes after the crash said that three or four men were pulling Lifsh out of the car and administering a beating. The first ambulance there was from a Jewish volunteer group called Hatzelah, Police and a city ambulance arrived shortly thereafter, the city ambulance took Gavin Cato to a hospital arriving at 8:32 (12 minutes after the accident) where 7 year old Gavin was pronounced dead. A second Hatzelah ambulance arrived and helped Angela until a second city ambulance arrived and took her to the same hospital (odd that the first Hatzelah ambulance crew wasn't assisting the little girl, or didn't take her to the hospital, and odd that the second Hatzelah ambulance didn't take her to the hospital either). Lifsh claimed he steered away from adults on the sidewalk and towards the wall to stop the car and avoid hitting anyone. He later claimed that the car didn't come to a stop when it hit the wall of the building, but slid along it until it hit the two children. Supposedly two cops and an EMT from a city ambulance told the Hatzelah drivers to get Lifsh out of the area for his own safety, while Gavin Cato was being removed from under the station wagon. In any event, they removed him from the scene, and the crowd grew outraged that he was getting out in a private ambulance while the two kids were still pinned under the car. It is curious that one of the policemen didn't put him in their car and call for backup to remove him from the scene (especially with an angry crowd), so that there would be enough ambulance and EMT's to treat and transport the injured children. Some in the crowd thought the Hatzelah drivers were refusing to help blacks. Lifsh was not given a breathalyzer test for more than an hour (70 minutes) after the accident. It was negative. Jewish writers both here and abroad said it was all the blacks fault, the Jews in the area committed no violence in the 3 day riot that ensued. I have to think Yosef Lifsh ran a red light instead of stopping and waiting and used the "I thought I was part of a police led motorcade and had the right of way" to justify running a red light rather than lose sight of his religious leader's car, and started the whole mess.

Blacks and Jews had a strained "co-existence" in Crown Heights before this, where a terrorist organization called the Jewish Defense League had "patrolled" the area in the 1970's and caused problems; and the perception that a Jew was removed from the scene before critically injured black children only worsened it. Crowds of young blacks had vandalized cars on predominantly Jewish Kingston Avenue the night of 19 August. Blacks in Crown Heights felt that this was another example of Jews (whom they thought were buying up all the property in the area) getting preferential treatment from police and in allocation of resources.About 11:30 pm that night, 19 August 1991, a group young blacks stopped a car approximately three blocks from the accident scene (President Street and Brooklyn Avenue) and confronted a car being driven by a young Hasidic scholar from Australia, Yankel Rosenbaum, 29. When he fled the car Rosenbaum was stabbed and left bleeding on the hood of his car. He died the next, supposedly from a colossal medical mistake after Mayor David Dinkins was assured Rosenbaum would survive after visiting him in the hospital. A 16 year old son of immigrants from Trinidad named Nelson Lemrick was arrested, tried and acquitted but in 2003 was convicted of violating Rosenbaum's civil rights and did 10 years.

Al Sharpton gave a eulogy at Gavin Cato's funeral on 26 August 1991. Sharpton, the "civil rights leader", the avowed opponent of racism, said this at Gavin Cato's funeral:

“Talk about how Oppenheimer in South Africa sends diamonds straight to Tel Aviv and deals with the diamond merchants right here in Crown Heights. The issue is not anti-Semitism; the issue is apartheid .... All we want to say is what Jesus said: If you offend one of these little ones, you got to pay for it. No compromise, no meetings, no coffee klatsch, no skinnin' and grinnin'."

The reference to "Oppenheimer" is to the diamond mine owners and to Jews in general. He threw more fuel on the fire saying ""We will not allow any compromise or sellout of this murderer. We will . . . accept nothing less than the prosecution of this man." And this: “If the Jews want to get it on, tell them to pin their yarmulkes back and come over to my house."  Sharpton led a march shortly after the riot with a crowd that was chanting "Who's streets? Our streets!" and "no justice, no peace" (the mantra of Sharpton's National Action Network, right through Crown Heights and past the World HQ of the Chabad Lubavitch sect.

FREDDIE FASHION MART  DEATHS 1995

In 1995 the United House of Prayer for all, a black Pentecostal church that owned a retail building in Harlem on West 125th Street asked its Jewish tenant that ran Freddie's Fashion Mart, Fred Harari, leasing space from the church, to evict his subtenant who'd sub-leased space in the building and ran The Record Shack. The sub-leasee was Sikhulu Shange and had leased space here for his record shop for a long time. Shange, a native of South Africa, wrote to local politicians, including U.S. Representative Charles Rangel, and successfully rallied local community and business leaders to his cause as a black businessman being unfairly evicted for no cause, to avoid being evicted by the black church. Shange stated that he felt Harari wanted more space for his store and the owners, the black church, were trying to accommodate the larger business. Notice in that link that in the second paragraph the NY Times calls Harari "white" but the fifth paragraph identifies him as a Jewish. Sharpton had told protestors "We will not stand by allow them to move this brother so that some white interloper can expand his business".

Shange says that Harari told him he was going to jack up the rent to where Shange couldn't afford to stay. By September Sharpton was involved, and used his old tactics of boycott against Freddie's Fashion Mart. It worked, and the church asked Shange to call off the protestors and offered to lease him a store on another corner of W 125th Street, to which Shange agreed. The deal fell apart because Shange said the terms were too restrictive and the rent exorbitant. He asked the protestors to resume picketing and distribute leaflets urging a boycott of Freddie's Fashion Mart. Some leaflets questioned the role of United House of Prayer for All, some used anti-Jewish language. On December 8 (eight years to the day before a court would settle with Al Sharpton on the defamation suit brought by Steven Pagones in the Tawana Brawley hoax) a man named Roland J. Smith walked into Freddie's Fashion Mart with a gun and flammable liquid, shot several customers and set the store on fire. He then committed suicide. The four people Smith shot escaped the store, but eight people died of smoke inhalation from the fire.

Sharpton later expressed regret for his "white interloper" comment. He claims he didn't have anything to with the Crown Heights riot and wasn't there. Well technically he wasn't there when the riots of 19-22 August occured. His "eulogy" (the "Oppenheimer" and the "pin back the yarmulkes" remarks were made then) for 7 year old Gavin Cato occurred at the funeral, 26 August. However his march through  Crown Heights and past the Chabad Lavitch HQ were highly inflammatory. But he does not and will not apologize for the harm he did in the Tawana Brawley hoax.

That said, Al Sharpton is getting unjustly bashed (although it's not surprising given his record) for saying something he didn't really say. That is, Sharpton is being accused of saying that Republicans (and FAUX News reactionary mouthpiece Sean Hannity) views blacks like Hitler viewed Jews. Sharpton didn't say that, or anything close to it. This is the most reasoned piece I've seen on the incident. Sharpton, though, was stupid enough to get into an argument with Dr. Cornell West, a man with 10 times Sharpton's intellect (or maybe 20 times); Sharpton thinks that black leaders except for President Obama, are doing nothing for American blacks will Dr. West thinks (as I do) that Obama is a "black mascot" for the rich. Now Sharpton is embroiled in another legal battle, he's accused of being in a scheme with singer Wyclef Jean to launder drug money.

And this is the guy that has his own radio show, that BSNBC gave his own TV show too, and is a regular guest on BSNBC shows like Morning Joe, Rachel Maddow, Ed Schultz, and on FOX/FAUX News.
